Feb 23, 2010 Hmm, funny, cyberlink's audio decoder won't decode the multichannel aac audio on my rip of Predator. It does however work on the 2 channel AAC of A Goofy Movie that I have (no explanation need, movie rocks). AAC stands for Advanced Audio Coding and it represents a lossy compression and encoding format for audio files. It is similar to MP3, but its sound quality is superior at the same bit rates compared to an MP3. This type of file is mostly used by iPhone. THOMSON mp3PRO Decoder.
LEADTOOLS provides Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) encoders, decoders, and transcoders for DirectShow and Media Foundation. These codecs compress and decompress audio data using the AAC compression standard (ISO/IEC 13818-7), which is designed to be the successor of ISO/MPEG Audio Layer-3 (MP3). AAC, also known as MPEG-2 Part 7, is a lossy digital audio encoding compression standard. AAC typically delivers high-quality audio at a lower bit rate when compared to other audio encoding standards such as MP3.
